This eatery, which first opened its doors last June, is located in downtown Barcelona near Portal de l'Angel and Plaça de Catalunya in one of the city's most bustling shopping districts. Tucked away on a leafy cul-de-sac on the famous Calle Comtal, it is the ideal place to enjoy a relaxing respite.

A young restaurant under young management, it offers quality, avant-garde cuisine with flawless presentation and warm, friendly service.

The house specializes in fresh market, Catalan and international dishes. The choicest, largely seasonal ingredients are selected for use in recipes from around the world, which are then reworked with a dash of imagination and a touch of local, Mediterranean color.

There is moreover a wide range of cakes, teas, shakes, smoothies, tapas, snacks and wine, all served with affability and affection in a modern but cozy venue, allowing diners to relish a moment of peace between meals.

The experience is rounded out by great music, daily papers and access to an assortment of cultural proposals.

Alter Ego also has a prix fixe tasting and cocktail menu for large groups that is perfect for working dinners, social events, family celebrations (birthdays, baptisms, first communions), press conferences, public presentations, wine tastings and business meetings.

It can moreover provide equipment for presentations (projector and screen). Likewise, personalized menus can be printed with your company's logo and customized texts.
