Jaime is the host, and he treats his clients like guests. Indeed, excellent service is key in this Eixample eatery, which is perhaps one reason why La Cococha has such a loyal clientele.

The house specialty is seafood, but there is also a wide array of tapas, vegetables, salads and meat, not to mention the delectable "cocochas" (or cod cheeks) from up north.

The open kitchen is a guarantee for fresh, serious cooking, and only the most highly qualified suppliers are used for precooked products. For example, the "kokotxas" (the original Basque spelling of the restaurant's namesake) are brought in fresh each day straight from San Sebastian.

The service is professional and personal with a large dash of enthusiasm.

The restaurant also offers an extensive wine list, which includes some of the country’s best labels at affordable prices, which average about €10.00.

There are five group menus ranging from €18.00 to €45.00 and a prix fixe menu for lunch. To reserve a table for large parties (up to 20), please call in advance, especially on weekends.
