Right upon the Roman wall, you will find one of the most welcoming and typical restaurants of the
Ciutat Vella , a well kept secret and almost hidden away in the maze of the the tiny streets of the Gothic Quarter.
A straightforward cuisine based on salads, original Cocas (Catalan sweet bread), cold meats and homemade desserts.
The list on the menu is however, not very extensive, but the dishes are elaborated with ingredients of the finest quality. The
coques de recapte, being the specialty, a typical Catalonian dish, which is elaborated by having as a basis a thin layer of bread yeast.
You can however, begin by choosing one of the salads, and there is one for every taste, with duck confit and mushrooms, with salmon and avocado with foie and parmesan… All served with their sauce (of honey, dill, mustard).
Available also is the traditional Jabugo ham, with bread with tomato, cheeses of different denominations of French and Spanish origin, Carpaccios and two classics of the Catalan cuisine (the
esqueixada de bacallà (cod) and the
escalivada of anchovies, from La Escala).
In the wine list you will primarily find a selection of Catalan reference.
To finish off, you won’t be disappointed with the desserts; you will see them served in one of those little streets of the Gothic Quarter.
