Nice Spice in an Indo-Pakistani restaurant visited by people of all walks of life, from youngsters and tourists, in the evening, to neighbours and local office people, at midday. The chef, Qamar Chaudry and his team, all stem from the Punjab province, in Pakistan and from their open kitchen where you can see them preparing the dishes live, in the Tandoori oven proposing a rich, typical cuisine from those far away places.
As entrées, the vegetable Samosa or the Pakora chicken are suggested, as a second, the very popular Chiken Tikka Massala or the Auchar Gushat (slightly spicy lamb) with curry sauce, green spices, and tomato. They ought to be accompanied by the highly recommended cheese naan, freshly baked in the Tandoori, and the Biryani rice, made according to Punjab recipes.
As desserts, our advice is the the rice with milk and the pistachio Kulfi (five stars).
Exclusively from Pakistan are the Karahi Goshat lamb dishes, the Muragh Karahi chicken and the chicken Balti or Balti lamb (special sauces of onion, tomato, garlic and ginger to go along respectively with the lamb and chicken).
Available are also Indian drinks, such as the Cobra beer, the mango shake, and the Kashmir (of pistachio, fruit syrup, milk and yogurt).
All this culinary scenery is accompanied by background music and videos of Bollywood films and by the mythical Pakistani singer Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan.
