With amazing views of the Port Vell Marina, Cal Pinxo is decorated to be carefully informal in all the soft blues and aquas of the sea and sky. The restaurant has broad windows and a terrace directly looking out onto the Mediterranean. After dessert, you can take a stroll on the marina or in the Barceloneta. The menu is classic Catalan with special emphasis on things that swim. Start with a plate of fresh clams then do not miss their paella, then maybe some Creme Catalana or egg flan. Service is professional and quick, and there's a children's menu, too.

Cal Pinxo is a most relaxing choice for after-business entertaining, birthdays, celebrations, parties, or anything at all, really. Set menus include classic dishes like anchovies from the Cantabric Sea, shellfish croquets, Zarzuela or Paella, a dessert of their suggestion. The wines are very well matched to the dishes. The ambience is chilled and your party may just go on and on. Don't say we didn't warn you.
