A lovely restaurant, set in what seems to be a converted space with rich furnishings and artwork hung and set against exposed steel beams and brick walls. The ambience is quietly relaxed, with upholstered banquettes and white table linens. Named after its chef and owner, Boix serves Catalan cuisine influenced most of all by the market. Dishes include starter of artichokes with Bocadito (mouthful) of Iberian ham, yellow egg and truffle dressing, main course of pork cheeks with bacon and grated potato and sweet of chocolate mousse. A children's menu, fine wines and thoughtful service make this a favourite.
Focusing on the part of Catalunya centred around the Pyrenees, Boix de la Cerdanya has more meat at the core of its offerings than many restaurants serving local dishes. While this modern, elegant restaurant is able to accommodate your group of up to 30 within the main dining room, the private room is much more smaller, seating just 12. Perfect then for relaxed corporate entertaining or gatherings of family or friends, christenings or communions -- the Catalan cuisine will be appreciated by all. Smart décor sets the scene for a memorable meal, and the service is professional and on the money. Set menu dishes include starter of Sta Paubean stew with caviar, main course of fillet of pork in beer, and sweet of Catalan custard.
