Set on a bustling street in the heart of old Barcelona near the Gothic Cathedral, El Trobador Ferrán is a popular choice for fusion Mediterranean brasserie food in very stylish setting. The décor is bold and colourful, like a troubadour's costume, with harlequin floors and chair backs, purples and reds splashed everywhere, musically themed graphics on the walls and cheery lighting. Light footed waiters zip through the dining room. The menu is grill-based, with dishes like starter of grilled artichokes, mains of skewers of prawns with bacon, grilled fish and meat dishes, pastas and risottos, and dessert of Crema Catalena. There's a daily menu, too, featuring seasonal creations.

Larger groups info:
Informal, cheery, relaxed, modern, Trobador Ferran brings all this and more to a very central location. Near the Ramblas and the Barri Gòtic, Trobador Ferrán has everything to recommend it for your gathering of family or mates. There's no private room, but groups of up to 12 will be accommodated in the boldly-coloured dining room. There is a plethora of set menus to choose from with dishes like starter of baked pepper salad with ajillo (garlic) style king prawns; second course, baked hake with Iberian cured ham, haricot beans and pistachio oil; and dessert, banana mousse with chocolate cracker, cream and forest fruits.
