Domènec Sugrañes i Gras was born in Reus, region of Baix Camp, in 1879 and was titled architect in 1912, disciple of fellow architect Antoni Gaudí, who which collaborated in diverse projects. He was also disciple of Gaudí in the Sagrada Familia, making him director of the works (between 1926 and 1936). He was also the author of the Monumental Bullfighting Ring, together with Manel Joaquim Raspall and Ignasi Mas i Morell. He died in Barcelona in 1938.
