The Hispano-Suiza was a luxury and competition cars company that in its time also designed aviation motors, transport vehicles and also military vehicles used in the First World War.
The brand was born in 1904 with the Catalan businessman Damián Mateu in charge together with the Swiss Engineer Marc Birkigt. The company developed hugely during the XX century till, it went bankrupt with the collectivization of factories and the failure of its founder, before the Spanish Civil War.
