Inspired by the Parisian Chat Noir, the restaurant - brewery Els Quatre Gats is the all a classic of Barcelona from 1897. It is situated in the ground floor of the Casa Martí, a neo-gothic building projected by the architect Josep Puig i Cadafalch.

Place of meeting for writers, painters and bohemians, it is well known by the role that it played in the Spanish avant-garde. Santiago Rusiñol, Isaac Albéniz, Pablo Picasso, Ramón Casas, Isidre Nonell, Maurice Utrillo, Rubén Darío or Antoni Gaudí were some of the illustrious visitors.

The culinary offer differs between the typical Catalan kitchen and of market produce.
