The Collserola Tower started construction in February 1990 although it did not become functional until June 1992, coinciding with the celebration of the Olympic Games of Barcelona. It was designed by the architect
Norman Foster
and from him they achieved the majority of the audiovisual links of the metropolitan area and of the province.
The tower is 288 metres high maximum, which makes it the highest building of the city, and is situated in the mountains of Collserola, concentrating in an area called Turó de Vilana, 445 metres above sea level. In the tenth level of its thirteen floors, there is a public lookout offering an excellent view of the whole city. If the atmospheric conditions are good, you can see up to the Pyrenees.
