Festivals | Barcelona History |

Organised since 1978 by the Institut de Cultura del Ayuntamiento de Barcelona (Institute of Culture of Barcelona City Council), the Grec Festival (Greek Festival) brings the most reputable worldwide artists from the music, contemporary dance and theatre industries to the city every summer.

The habitual stages of the performances tend to be: Poble Espanyol (Spanish Village), Mercat de les Flors (Flower Market), Plaça del Rei (King Square), Palau de la Música Catalana (Catalan Music Palace), Teatre Nacional de Catalunya (National Theatre of Catalonia) and L'Auditori de Barcelona (The Auditorium of Barcelona).

The Teatre Grec de Montjuïc is the emblematic mark of the event and is also the stage to some of main shows.

The official program is found in the Internet or in the information point of Plaça Catalunya (Catalonia Square), where the tickets are sold for the functions.
