The Nederlands Dans Theater, which has been firmly established since the 1960s as one of the world's great dance companies, has distinguished itself from the beginning by its tremendous creativity under the leadership of B. Harkarvy, Van Manen, G. Tetley and, more recently, Jirí Kylián and Anders Hellstrom. An evening with the NDT is an invitation to take part in one of the most substantial manifestations of modern dance. Do not expect to find pointe shoes or tutus in the NDT: the dancers are so charismatic they do not need them. They all float through the air with superlative elegance on feather-light feet. Their movements are razor-sharp; their emotions, devastating. They are vulnerable and powerful at one and the same time.
