Lovefoxxx, Luiza, Ana, Iracema, Carolina and Adriano seem like they've just wandered off the set of Tarantino's film 'Death Proof': Full of libido, overflowing hormones, girly chit-chat, and modern action. CSS is an abbreviation of the ironic Portuguese expression 'cansei de ser sexy' (tired of being sexy), CSS formed in 2003, a product of the multicoloured world of photoblogs, graphic design, rampant nightlife, fashion and cinema. After producing two of their own EPs in 2004, they went ballistic with ''Cansei De Ser Sexy'' (2005), a debut album which was both audacious and knowingly referential, with nods to the likes of Death From Above 1979 and Paris Hilton, dirty art-punk and disco-pop in tracksuits. They have since signed a juicy contract with the prestigious Sub Pop label and are causing a real buzz, as the modern world realises that behind all the hype this zesty Brazilian cocktail packs a lot of punch. No longer only appearing in their native São Paulo, they are now on the information superhighway and can be found giving their all on stages all over the world.
