With their great melodies, noisy guitars, lo-fi sound and attitude, and a sprinkling of the blessed extravagance, drama, romanticism and humour, Pete & The Pirates have the perfect formula for making indie pop along the lines of great outsiders like Hefner or Clap Your Hands Say Yeah!. However, they also have the key ingredients to become as big as the Arctic Monkeys. This five piece group from Reading (UK) started out in 2006 with the 8 track EP, 'Wait, Stop, Begin', which was followed by the singles 'Knots', 'Come On Feet' and 'Get Even', all released on the brand new Stolen Recordings label. All of this hard work brought them more fans and good reviews while their already hectic concert schedule started to feature the names of festivals, like Reading and Leeds, which until then they had only experienced as fans. In 2008, they finally released they’re long awaited debut album, ''Little Death'', and continued touring intensively around the world. Just as they sometimes must nudge each other in amazement at what’s happening to them, we must praise their talent and their modesty.
