Interpol first emerged in 1998, when the group's founders met at university in New York. Known for their moody sound, inherited from British indie bands from the 80s (Joy Division, The Chameleons, Echo & The Bunnymen), they have become one of this decades finest bands. Their marvellous debut, 'Turn On The Bright Lights' (2002), had us completely hypnotized and dazzled with its razor-sharp condensed sound. They later opened it up a bit with the less intense, but no less powerful, 2004 album, 'Antics'. Along with Arcade Fire, The National and The Walkmen, they are a musical flagship for our alienated society. In 2007, they dropped their strict colour code of black-white-red and introduced sepia tones and taxidermist iconography for the cover of their new album 'Our Love To Admire'. No I In Threesome
