Norman Foster, Barón Foster of Thames Bank, was born in Manchester on 1 June 1935 and is one of the most famed contemporary architects.

He completed his degree in his home town and obtained a grant to continue his studies in Yale. Later on, he worked with the architect Richard Buckminster Fuller and founded, in 1965, the Team 4 studio, with his first wife Wendy, Richard Rogers and his wife, Sue. After two years, the name of the company was changed to Foster and Partners.

His first works are categorised by an emphasised technological style that, later on, was softened. Nevertheless, all the projects of Foster always have an industrial mark.

He received the title of Sir in 1990 and was configured by the Order of Merit in 1997. Two years later, Queen Elizabeth II awarded him the title of Baron.

He has received important architectural prizes, like the gold medal of the American Institute of Architecture and, in 1999, the prestigious Pritzker prize.

In Barcelona, Foster was in charge of the Torre de Collserola (Collserola Tower) and will possibly be the architect responsible for the remodeling of Camp Nou, for which the demo has been presented.

Currently, Foster and his associates´ studio have offices in London, Berlin, Singapore and are looking in to opening another in Madrid, with a team of 500 people.
