The Federación de Entidades Culturales Andaluzas en Cataluña (Federation of Cultural Andalusian Entities in Catalonia) was born in February, 1982 with the target to unite close to seven dozens of entities, cultural centers, confradias, fraternity and Andalusian groups of Catalonia to encourage and to promote the knowledge of the Andalusian culture in this community.

Throughout the year, the Federation is organised by several recreational and cultural acts, exhibitions, conferences, seminars, poetry, dance, festivals, pilgrimages and flamenco.

Between their activities, worthy of a mention are these four events of annual character: Las Jornadas Conmemorativas del Día de Andalucía (The Commemorative Days of the Day of Andalusia), The Fair of April in Catalunya, La Romería del Rocío en Catalunya (The Pilgrimage of the Dew in Catalunya), and the national contest of singing Yunque Flamenco, which takes purpose to preserve the aesthetic essence and the time to encourage and to spread this form of traditional Andalusian music.
