China soñada, China real...Dream China, Real China
China lives, since a decade ago, immersed in important processes of construction and deconstruction widely modifying their landscape. This exhibition will put these changes in the continuity of history and culture of that country. Its aim is to present the reality of the city yesterday and today in four dimensions: urban design, architecture, landscape and infrastructure. It is also an opportunity to confront these realities with the Chinese and Western imagination, as well as mechanisms to close the information or propaganda.
The exhibition is supported by the presentation of archaeological documents, artwork, models, archival images and contemporary creativity. The exhibition tour, unified by the notion of change, breaks down into a dozen autonomous spaces linked to either a word or a Chinese concept, whether a city that will be presented through one of its main features, which highlights especially the current Beijing in the process of urban development focused on the Olympics.
Thus, some of the areas of the exhibition will include: Garden, Character / Writing, Earth, Water, FengShui and Construction / Destruction. And among the cities represented are: Hangzhou / Suzhou, Congqing, Canton / census, Shanghai and Beijing.
