Calle Escudellers
Gòtic
After a pleasant walk along
Las Ramblas
, the street Escudellers is an excellent option to get lost between the ancient streets of the city and make a pit stop to eat. Just behind the monument devoted to Frederic Soler located in Las Ramblas we find this narrow street that little by little seduces us with the aromas of the restaurants.
All the palates will remain satisfied by the varied offers of the venues. Obligatory stop turns out to be the restaurant El Caracol (The Snail), very easy to identify for having oven roasted chickens in the façade of the building on the corner, the Grill Room for its lounge inspired by Art Noveau and the free buffets of minimalist décor like Mu.
But this street is not only is known by the gastronomy. In it we also find the enormous shop Art Ecudellers, where an endless number of gadgets prepared with ceramics can be purchased. And the fact is that the name of this street comes from the
terrissaries
, those that work doing
escudellas
, a Catalan stew. Further on and after passing through small supermarkets and bazaars of economic articles we come up to the luminous and animated square of
George Orwell
, notoriously known as 'Plaza del Trippy'.
