The El Born quarter is one of the areas that is most in fashion. In the last few years an abundance of exclusive clothes have appeared and especially with bars and restaurants where one can chill and indulge while the people watching.
The best way to come to the Passeig del Born is from the City Council of Barcelona and going down for Jaume I. When it´s good weather, the entrance of the boulevard fills up with booths with articles of all kinds, from purses up to personalised bracelets.
The area is always full of the people, especially because there you find the Cathedral of Mar,
Mercat del Born and the Fosar de les Moreres, but also for the ambience that originates at night in the bars and pubs.
For those who want to eat well and at good price, one of the best alternatives is the Pizza del Born, an Argentine pizzeria that almost all the weekends and at night generates a queue that leaks out of the venue.
The walk reaches up the Plaça de la Reina and in the past medieval fares where put on there where as well as the gentlemen organised tournaments and jousts. Today remnants of the medieval era can be seen, like for example the façade of the mansion of XIVth century that is at number 17.
