The suburb of Les Corts, situated in the centre of the district with the same name, is an area with a varied architectural landscape, which combines buildings from XVIII and XIX, with more modern constructions.

It is the oldest part of the old municipality independent of Les Corts, made independent by Sant Gervasi of Casolas in 1836 and was added to Barcelona in 1897, and turns around to the Plaza del Carme, central axes of this popular suburb of Barcelona that opened in the last quarter of XIX Century. At the end of the same century, various industries were installed, such a Castells factory, of which the colony is currently finding in the process of remodeling.

The most remote origins of Les Corts, in spite of, arrived to the Roman era or until the Neolithic times, of which civilizations have found remains of the area that occupied the ancient rural house of Can Batllori.

In the last years, they have constructed residential areas in the highest part of the suburb and, between the ´20´s and ´60´s of XX Century accommodated the FC Barcelona ground, moved later on to another suburb in the same district.
