The Mercat de l'Abacería Central (Abacería Central Market, ´abacería´ simply referring to shop selling delicatessen products), situated in the Gràcia district and with more than 4,000 square metres of surface, was constructed in 1892.

Like the style of the other markets of the epoch, it was constructed from a metallic structure, to which a bare brick wall coating was added. It is formed by a centred building with two lateral hallways.

Later on, the name was changed to Mercat de la Revolució (Revolution Market) and, afterwards: Abacería Central.

It was reconstructed in 1965 and reformed in multiple occasions, the last in 1997.
