The Mercat de Núria (Nuría Market) was constructed in 1966 in the then new suburb of Ciutat Meridiana, in the district of Nou Barris.

At that time, the district was one of the most popular of the city and one of those that experienced a more acknowledged demographic growth, for which it was necessary to cover the necessities of the new citizens.

In this way and due to the previous growth of the number of municipal markets in Barcelona, this venue was constructed to amplify the alimentary offering.

With a total surface of nearly 700 square metres, the Nuría Market has suffered renovations a dozen times.
