Situated behind the historic Universitat of Barcelona building, the Mercado de Libros (Book Market) of Diputación street is found on the border of extinction since the Ayuntamiento de Barcelona (City Council) decided to abolish it. In January 2006 there were only a couple of functioning stalls left.
