Antonio Llena, Catalan sculptor, was born in Barcelona in 1942.
His art is eminently ephemeral since the materials that he uses more it his works are paper, cardboard, hair... in short, materials in which the passage of time plays an essential role.
His trajectory as artist began in 1964, when his sculptures and facilities started being exhibited, many of them in the public space. In this first stage, that of the sixties happened for a conceptual period.
In the sixties he stopped his production, but he re-tackled it at the beginning of the eighties, with paintings of manipulated paper. From 1990, he centred on three-dimensional works. In 1992 he contributed several works for the Olympic Villa, like the sculpture of David i Goliat, located in the
Parc de les Cascades, and in 2002 for the building of the City Council of Barcelona.
