Georg Friedrich Händel was born in Halle (Saxony-Anhalt), on 23 February 1685, where he lived up to 18 years. Later he adopted the English nationality. As a composer he was considered to be one of the summits of the Baroque and one of the best and the most influential of the western music. It is a question of being the first modern composer in having adapted his music to satisfy the musical tastes of the public instead of those of the nobility and of the patrons. He died in London on 14 April 1759.
