Emanuel Gat is an up-and-coming israeli talent who has rocketed to fame thanks to performances at leading contemporary dance venues all over the world. The evening opens with a solo entitled My Favourite Things, an exercise exuding freedom and expressive energy, accompanied by the music of John Coltrane. The second piece is The Rite of Spring, that features salsa steps in an unusual version. The ballet, dismissed as barbarous by many early spectators, has since become a classic of dance repertoires in the 20th and early- 21st centuries.
