Living Colour is a rock fusión band formed in 1984 by Afro-American musicians of New York City, USA. Their musical style is based on fusions of funk, heavy metal, free jazz, punk and hip-hop. Through dissolving in January 1995, the association announced their reunion at the beginning of 2001.

They commenced as a trio composed of Vernon Reid (guitar), Muzz Skillings (bass) and Will Calhoun (drums). Corey Glover (voice) was integrated to the band after Vernon Reid heard him sing 'Happy Birthday' at friend´s house. The group presented, during various years, in clubs and venues of USA, making their shows in the New York CBGB habitual, which foresaw their first album. Vernon Reid was the only one with musical experiences, since he had recorded with the experimental jazz team of Ronald Shannon Jackson (of who he composed of at the beginning of the decade of 1980) and, also, with Defunkt, Public Enemy and Bill Frisell.
