Juan Maclean live! Although Daft Punk almost stole the title of his debut album, according to his website Juan Maclean is the only one who could envisage a love triangle between a man, a woman and the man’s gay robot friend. Maclean first appeared in the early nineties as guitarist and keyboards player for the popular gonzo electro-punk band Six Finger Satellite, but he is now digging into the back catalogues of Devo, Big Black and Kraftwerk, as well as rummaging around in his collection of Model 500, DAF, Suicide, Juan Atkins, Derrick May, Funkadelic, Giorgio Moroder, Lipps Inc., Talking Heads and Frankie Goes To Hollywood. Currently resident DJ at the renowned DFA, Maclean confidently leads us through the latest alternative tunes with a mixture of clumping beats, cowbells, free form Moog synths, and elastic baselines. On stage, his blend of neo-electro is sublime, especially when supported by LCD Soundsystem and !!!. Give Me Every Little Thing
