During his time in Paris, the Swede Peter Von Poehl collaborated on the album 'Presence Humaine' (2000) by Michel Houellebecq (yes, that one, the writer) and Bertrand Burgalat before making his solo debut with 'Going To Where The Tea Trees Are' (2004), a 7" so delightful that when a French radio station started playing it their switchboard was unable to cope with all the calls from listeners requesting it. Since then it has become something of a contemporary classic. 'Going To Where The Tea Trees Are' (2006) was also the name of his debut album, a record on which the blonde Peter (who now lives in Berlin) again hit the mark with his blend of nomadic folk pop from Sweden, France, Germany and America. After touring with the likes of Phoenix and Air, Peter Von Poehl is now ready to live up to his reputation as one of the best singer songwriters around today with his eagerly awaited second album, 'Mayday' (2008).
