Entartete Kunst (EK) was formed in Barcelona in '96. At the time three friends from the High School started doing versions of their favourite bands: Joy Division, Buzzcocks, The Stooges, Paralisis Permanente, Ramones... They rehearsed in the warehouse behind a bar on Rector Calle Triadó which then was the headquarters of the House of Linares of Barcelona. Making part of the group were Miguel Cabal (vocals and drums), Alex González (bass) and Rodrigo E. Zapata (guitar).
From that epoch they retain Entartete Covers, which includes some of the versions of the group and the industrial improvisation Entartete Ncubauten. On June 20th ’97 the group delivers its first and only performance with this formation. At the end of ’97, Mario Albarracin is incorporated on the boards. Miguel Cabal switches over to the guitar. E.K, moves over to Poblenou and on April 24th ’98, cuts hits first project with four tracks. It included three pieces of their own and one from the Entartete Neubauten session. Two new elements will soon join the group: Josep Mivalles (drums) and Guillem Redolat (percussion). With this very formation E.K records New Noise with eight tracks which included eight original themes and a version of the Eisbar of Grauzone. On the 2lst March ’99 the work is presented at the Humedad Relativa Hall. The musical critics describe New Noise, and all the E.K music, as something half way between the New Wave and the no wave and name the Joy Division, The Cure, Bauhaus, Sonic Youth, Pixies and Placebo as their main influences.
Dr Trunyelo joins in as drummer, and they begin to rehearse at Hospitalet. In 2000, Guillem Redolat - taking advantage of the absence of singer guitar player Miguel Cabat, who had to stay in Russia for six months – changes percussion for drums and it is with this composition that will remain unchanged that the group will perform on July 23 in Lluïsos de Gràcia.
On April 27, 01 the band records two new themes in a new project. From then on various concerts have taken place among which the one held at Cava del Drac in September 01, at KGB Hall, together with Casual and Extremaunción should be pointed out.
