Bigas Luna

Juan José Bigas Luna was born on March 10, 1946 in Barcelona. He studied in the Liceo Francés (French Lyceum), the Real Monasterio de Santa Isabel (Saint's Real Monastery Isabel) and the Hermanos de las Escuelas Cristianas (Brothers of the Christian Schools). In 1967 he initiated university studies in Economy.

Later, he created his Gris studio dedicated to the industrial design and of interiors and began to be work in the publicity world till his first film, 'Tatuaje' (Tattoo), based on the novel by Manuel Vázquez Montalbán.

In the '80's he moved to Los Angeles to achieve a script by order and remained there for four years. He made three films, between which the standouts are Anguish, the most prize-winning film of all his filmography (he receives the recognition of all the countries of Anglo-Saxon speaking countries).
