The IDEP was founded in 1983 in Barcelona, and was dedicated to the professional teaching of the audiovisual and of communication environment, specialising in disciplines with grand projection in the society and organised by two large schools:
> Escuela de la Imagen (School of Image) includes the studies of Photography, Video-Cinema-TV, 3D and New Media.
> Instituto Superior de Diseño (Superior Institute of Design) embraces the departments of Graphic Design and Fashion and is associated with the
Universitat Abat Oliba CEU of Barcelona.
The objective of all the IDEP schools is to dedicate a global formation to the future professionals and facilitate their incorporation to job placements of high caliber with the best preparation possible, emphasising the development of the projects of the respective study plans.
Some complete informative classes with MAC and PC, G5 work stations and Silicon Graphics, professional sets equipped for the practical studies of video and photography, laboratories, editing and soundtrack rooms, specialised libraries, Internet areas, galleries for expositions…nearly 4, 000m² distributed between the different centres, dedicated to the teaching of the exclusive image and design, making EDP play an important role in the education sector in Barcelona.
