Created in 1961, Elisava is the leading design school created in Spain, staking on an innovative, creative, cross-disciplinary line of training and research, closely aimed at the professional world. It therefore works widely with companies, institutions and universities locally, nationally and internationally.
The School was founded by a numerous group of leading personalities of Catalan culture and a series of architects, designers and theoreticians concerned with teaching design, who defined a line of work characterised by academic rigour in the exercise of the profession.
Elisava is now a learning centre affiliated to the
Universitat Pompeu Fabra, which offers training cycles, degrees and postgraduates, and specialisation courses in the areas of Design, Technical Architecture and Technical Engineering in Industrial Design, all in response to new emerging careers, with the quality level and creative personality that has contributed to the great prestige of the school.
Located in the centre of Barcelona, in one of the areas of greatest historical and cultural interest in the city, Elisava has more than 1,600 students and 500 teachers and collaborators with broad teaching experience and solid professional careers. Each year, the school also attracts renowned professionals who want to devote some of their time to get involved in the activity of the centre and in training the pupils through talks, seminars, exhibitions and workshops.
