Dalí always expressed great admiration for Gaudí, even when public opinion was against him. Of all Gaudí’s works, however, the one that particularly attracted him was La Pedrera – a building he often visited, in which he had himself photographed and which he defended back in 1933 in an article published in the French magazine Minotaure. Dalí’s feeling of identification with Gaudí emerged clearly in talks, articles and interviews, as well as in his artistic oeuvre. This is shown in this exhibition, which presents oil paintings, drawings, photographs and manuscripts that allow us to capture Gaudí’s genius as interpreted by Dalí, in a view that is at once different and illustrative, one in which the two creators’ imaginary worlds come together and acknowledge each other.
