Kobe de Peuter was born in Belgium in 1979. Drawing has been a part of his life ever since he can remember.

The title of our new exhibition 'Kobism' is a tricky name, invented by his sister. He personally considers his wotk to be a continuation of a merge of constructivism, cubism and fauvism. This merge wasn't created intentionally; it's merely a coincidence. As his drawings used to be figurative, there never was a real evolution to his recent, abstracted work. It merely appeared, quite sudden. Since then the style has served me well to express his personal and rapidly changing feelings, as an emotional, daily outlet. What he is trying to achieve is a representation of a revelation of beauty in his daily experiences, as well as a visual image of the paradoxes he seems to encounter everywhere.
Because art can be more then just a revelation of beauty: it can ask the spectator an ethical question, and it can express universal connections or reveal hidden information.
