The Foundation was born in the year '75 by the hand of the famous painter, Joan Miró, who with this initiative dedicates to his hometown a space for the expression of the most modern trends of the contemporary art scene.

The Foundation, together with the Centre of the Contemporary Art Studies organises exhibitions of great artists of the 20th Century.

Besides the permannt exhibition of Miró, the centre occasionally shows works of famous contemporary artists such as Warhol, Giacometti or Magritte.

There's a shop, a book shop and a bar-restaurant.
