Opened in '99 by Jose Maria Cases, a plastic artist and cabinet restorer, who has always nurtured a passion for wine growing, this stately home was built throughout the XII and XIV centuries and still retains some Gothic remnants, such as the low arched vaults and walls that sustain the building.
It is told tat there are documents mentioning that Christopher Columbus rested in this house after his return from the first expedition to the Americas. Later on, it was used as a coach station that served Zaragoza and up to the 20th century it was a house where the palms for the Holy Week, wickerwork and ropes were manufactured.
Nowadays it is a rustic place exquisitely decorated, which offers the possibility of wine tasting and some catalan light food. Amidst whites, reds, roses and champagnes, there are approximately 300 wines from all over of the world, mainly Spanish. Outstanding are the Penedès, Rioja, Priorat and Duero banks.

Iberian and Catalan jams and pork specialties and over fifty types of cheeses, between national and foreign, form the basis for the «tapas» offer of the Va de Vi. We recommend a selection of cheese and cold meats to go along the reds.
Of the traditional Italian Ice Creams, one can point out the one of Roquefort cheese; not overlooking the sweet option, the famed Gianduja chocolate from Turin, a real treat.
A new counter serves all types of cocktails and long drinks for either the customers awaiting their turn, or the youths, who drop by for an early night drink.
About 60% of the clientele is local, the remaining 40% being foreigners. The majority come within the 25- 55 year range, even though there aren't any age limits.
Va de Vi is a quiet space of very fine taste, resting on a suave light and minimal decoration with a preoccupation on detail. The paintings, ceramics and sculptures, creations of the owner, give charm and provide the artistic touch to the space. Music is eclectic, of the ambience type, perfectly in accordance with the spirit of the house.
