La Clandestina's exotic touch will take you to far away places as you enjoy their wide variety of tea flavors. It's owner, Estel, got inspired to open her teahouse in early '02 after traveling to Mongolia, Tibet, India, China, Turkey and Morocco.

Their teas and decoration pay tribute to the cultures she visited. Tibetan colours, Turkish water pipes, Moroccan lamps and Indian tapestries add colour and exoticism to a small street in the Gothic quarter that’s almost forgotten and near a section of the old Roman Wall.

Calm atmosphere with sofas that are perfect for chatting among friends, reading or connecting free wi-fi to internet, with chill-out music and ethnic sounds, this space is for people who love tea and traveling.

They basically have two menus, one with tea and coffees, and another with fruit juices, shakes, pastries and sandwiches.

They serve about 45 teas, of which we’ll mention the Moroccan (green tea with fresh mint and sugar), Massala Chi (from India with black tea, spice mix and milk), exotic teas (three mixes with fruits and flower petals). Their most popular coffees are the Mexican (with cinnamon stick, orange and clove) and coffee with cardamom.

On the second half of their menu you’ll find Indian Lassis, which are milk shakes (or with soy milk), yogurt and fruits, such as the Pushkar Lassi (with mango, banana, chocolate, coconut and cinnamon). They have natural juices like lemon with mint, melon or kiwi and other tropical and local fruits.

You can also eat meat or vegetarian sandwiches. The Clandestina, with tuna, mayo, lettuce, tomato, red pepper and corn is the most popular. They also have homemade pastries like brownies (the biggest hit), cookies, lemon and carrot cakes among others.

You can accompany all this by tasting the various aromas coming from water pipes which can be used to smoke tobacco flavored with apple, strawberry, melon, mint, tuti-fruit and other flavors.

You’ll also find art by young creators, or artists from the neighborhood as they exhibit painting, marionettes or decorative objects that change every five weeks. They also sell tea by weight and accessories like teapots and glasses.
