The English language event of the year is due to kick off in Spain on 4th of November 2005 with the launch of The Giggling Guiri, the first professional comedy club of it’s kind in the country. It will run from this November to May ‘06 bringing the biggest names on the international comedy scene to the expat population. The programme includes stars from Scotland, Wales, Ireland, England and the US.

Anyone who was at this years Edinburgh Fringe, the mother of all comedy festivals will recognise immediately the quality of performer on offer. Almost the entire line up of the Assembly Rooms (one of the biggest and possibly most famous of Edinburghs venues) Jason Byrne, Dara O´Briain and Danny Bhoy will be some of the first to come and really set the Giggling Guiri on its way.

The Giggling Guiri will take place in the comedy perfect surroundings of one of Barcelona´s most intimate rooms, Cafe Teatre Llantio. This venue offers an incredible opportunity to enjoy the best comedy up close and personal. It is rare indeed to get these guys in such an intimate room

If you´ve never been to the worlds most famous comedy festival then expect this club to give you the answer about how to beat the august heat in Spain.

The Giggling Guiri is a late night club with doors opening at 12pm. It is sure to become one of the most anticipated nights in both cities and a great way to beat any winter blues.

First up is Jason Byrne arriving in fine form after a complete sell out of the Assembly rooms. Thats 600 people a night throughout the festival. He also scooped the Peoples choice award for his performances. His show is high energy with a lot of interaction with the audience.
