Vinotinto, (Red Wine) is a restaurant that has to be discovered. With an ambience of a Castilian style bodega is not surprisingly popular, since its origins stem from Valladolid.

The idea behind its creation is simple: good primary source of ingredients at the best possible prices, the result of the experience of Oscar Garrote, a well known restaurateur and founder of the Vinotinto chain.

The restaurant is on a constant quest for fine wine lodges that work directly with the owner, cutting out the middle-man. This is well reflected in the list of wines which is full of well known brands obtainable at the most reasonable prices. Penedés, Priorat, Pla de Bages, Costers del Segre, Castilla León, Castilla la Mancha, Ribera del Duero… are all part of a cast of over 90 regions.

Upon entry, there is an area where you can sample and enjoy wine by the glass. Enjoy tapas, such as Cecina (cured ham from León), Surtido de ibéricos (a selection of Spanish cold meats) or a quick meal a la carte.

The eatery, with its wooden tables and benches, is the ideal place to savour the star dish, chuletón, char grilled ox steak. This famous dish is slow cooked by Andrés, the "parrillero", and grilled to the customer's personal taste.

Ox Carpaccio, scrambled eggs, Foie Micuit, grilled vegetables, Tolosa asparagus, lamb chops and Duck Magret are some other dishes that accentuate this unique menu. Vinotinto also offers the freshest fish, selected daily at the Santa Caterina Market, and grilled with a special touch.

Vinotinto is a place for fresh market cuisine fans that appreciate flavor and quality. This, in addition to the amiable attitude of the staff formed by Rosa, the room chef, José Mari, Mirko, Patricia and Toni, are key for the existence of an atmosphere that makes this restaurant a most agreeable and unforgettable experience.
