Cirkus Experience was born out of the union of two rather distinct concepts: sushi and fashion. The owners are Rodrigo Guevara and Luisa Jaramillo, of Colombian origins, who join in this restaurant their passions: Japanese food and clothes design and accessories.
Located in a welcoming place of the Avinyó street, in the heart of the Gothic Quarter, the circus inspiration for its décor, with vivid colours and stone walls, turn it into a different proposition and a fine combination between fashion and gastronomy.
The offer emphasis is basically on sushi and sashimi, but also on hot dishes, which vary according to the season. The kitchen is run by Luisa, formed by the Hoffman school and former chef of the Re-Pla restaurant. The menu gives the opportunity of tasting Japanese cuisine recipes with tropical touches relying on fruits, among which stand out the Cuerda Floja (smoked caramelized eel, Masago and avocado covered in salmon on Unagui sauce), the Cirkus Roll (prawn, salmon, cream cheese, mango and spicy sauce covered in Masago and sesame) or then the Chirashi Sakana, bowl with as a bed of rice and a mixture of marinated fish on sesame oil, soy, Shitake mushroom, avocado, spring onions, Massago, clams, strawberries, pineapple and mango (one of the house specialties).
In the part of the shop, the high level of possible gifts and the modern street accessories stand out and enhance the prestige brands such as: the Scandinavian shoes, Bobbie Burns; the jeans, Cheap Monday; the Danish accessories, Dyrberg Kern and the bags of the Colombian label, Zur Hand Bags.
The endless list of reference labels in their styles, like Pharmacy Industry, from Italy; Joe Rivetto; Six Pack, from France, or Mark Eckoof American origin complete the offer.
