This pub and restaurant was opened in October 2001 by people from Dublin, who have brought over from the Irish capital the idea of an Irish pub in its widest concept; a huge place with a purely traditional decor, having everything that a public house can possibly offer: British beers, Irish whiskeys, sports event transmissions and also food.

Located in a large and luminous plaza of the Gothic quarter, just beside La Rambla, the place boasts a terrace that tourists can enjoy the sun, of which they seem never to grow tired. In just a short time, Flaherty has become a reference for both the Irish and British of BCN and other visitors.

Decorated with all sorts of domestic objects and artifacts showcased in big rustic cupboards, this is the BCN version of other pubs owned by this Celtic family in Seville and Saragossa.

To begin with, the kitchen offers a wide variety of Nachos (4,20€ or 6,40€). Then there are the Irish Bacon and Sausages (5,40) or the Traditional Irish Breakfast, which is served all day long (7,90); the salads (all accompanied by Irish bread) and the chicken wrap (6,50).

As main course we recommend the specialty Fish’n’Chips and the Steak and Mushroom Pie (both 6,90)and for dessert, the Brownie (3,50). There is a vast diversity of vegetarian dishes: the Garden Salad (4,50) and the Vegetable Wrap (6,20) being two good examples.

To finish off, after such substantial meals, we advise the Irish Coffee (4,00) or one of the many Irish whiskeys, ideal digestives to start out the night...

Available are all Irish TV channels, Sky Sports both Irish and British and Canal Plus to witness the major sporting events on the three screens: projection, plasma and TV.

Because of its outstanding location, just by the Rambla, it has become a favourite amongst the tourists wishing to watch football, rugby or Super Bowl.

Music also plays an important role; the greatest hits and pop of the 80's until today during the day. In the evenings, there is generally traditional and contemporary Irish live music.

Perhaps, because the predominance is clearly foreign, this is one of such pubs that give the idea that you are escaping the daily world, without even leaving the city centre.

If you are trying to get away from BCN, then this is an easy solution; a restaurant that owing to its food, staff, style, service and clientele, might well anywhere be in Eire, but located in the centre of the Gothic Quarter.
