Almost hidden in a small and historic alley of The Gothic Quarter, Arc Café is undoubtedly one of the venues that has achieved deserved renown ever since its opening in 2000.

Neither large nor gaudy, it is a place that gains charisma every passing year, pleasing its visitors by its tranquility and liberal environment.

Through the week a varied patronage peruse it; from the tourists that wander by the Mercè area, to the Elisava school students, conferring it an informal and heterogeneous ambience, made up by congenial people, where neither yuppies nor ´freaks´ feature prominently.

The owners are German, and they have managed to adapt the concept, beyond that of a mere restaurant, cafeteria or bar. Both for its décor and its chill out music, it is a place, more to the central European style and which is always open, serving without interruption from the the lunch, from the supper to the evening and night drink.

One can savour an eclectic gastronomic offer, under a strong eastern influence, encompassing every possible proposition. Stand outs are the salads and soups; the options prepared having as a basis, the Thai Curry generally accompanied by Basmati rice, and chicken or pork; or then there´s Italian influence, mainly felt in the pastas and "buschette".

If you wish to dine on the weekend, it´s best to reserve beforehand, but you can always take the first evening drink, because at the bar, fine cocktails are prepared in anticipation of the night «movida».

Saturday and Sunday afternoons are well known for its "Brownies", a good company for reading and a coffee.
